High Pressure Workshop at the ECM 2022

Call for abstracts at the “In House Crystallography measurements under High Pressure and High Temperature” (Orsay, FR)

HP workshop at the ECM 2022

We would like to bring your attention to the one-day workshop on

“In House Crystallography measurements under High Pressure and High Temperature”, which is part of the satellite events organized within the frame of the European Crystallography Meeting 33. The event will take place on the 29th August 2022, in Orsay (France).

The workshop is open to contributions from young to more experienced researchers. The aim of this symposium is to build up a fruitful discussion, with special focus on the problematics and limitations of the currently available experimental set up. Hence, we aim at hosting contributions where the scientific results will not be the main focus but would be functional to facilitate a discussion on the methods and on what can be done today in in-house facilities. In this light, also problematic results, which did not meet the initial scientific expectations are welcome.

The main points we would like to address are:

i) State of the art: which HT/HP devices are currently available in in-house laboratories? What are the main problematics and limitations? Importance of this kind of experiments in different disciplines,

ii) Examples of specific case studies: what can be done and to which extent?

iii) Perspectives and challenges: what is still missing? possible development of new apparatus, implementation of self-constructed accessories on in-house facilities.

If you are interested, please visit the website: https://satelliteecm33.altervista.org/ for more information on the location, registration and abstract submission (deadline May 5).

We hope to see you all in Orsay!

Best regards,
